Welcome to all of our returning and new NEGC families, and possible "future Olympians". I trust that everyone caught the Olympic spirit this summer at some level. What a great experience for Canada and the world.
NEGC begins this fall session with well over 500 athletes. We look forward to the beginning of many new friendships and new skills to be achieved by all.
For those new members with children in the CANGYM program, here is a little info that may help you support your child. There are 24-30 skills in each badge level that must be mastered before earning a badge and progressing to the next level. There are 12 levels in total and skills are tested thoughout the session. Each skill is graded three levels:
A= Attempted, L= Learning and M = Mastered
Each child, regardless of age in each level, progresses at their own rate and it is very common to repeat a level more than once to achieve the skills necessary to move forward. Please continue to encourage your child each day before and after class, and celebrate each success no matter how big or small.
Please use our website as another tool to keep in touch with the events happening at the gym. Mark your calendars for special days and activities. Make sure that you come and watch the Danish Team that NEGC is hosting at the end of Sept. and buy your tickets early for this year's Christmas party as there are only 225 available.
As always,my door is always open, so if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please come on in and see me.
